About
Leda Alexopoulou was born in Athens (Greece) in 1972. She studied in both Athens Schools of Economics and Business (1996) and in Athens School of Fine Arts (2004). She has a diploma in Marketing and Management and a diploma with honors in Painting. In the Athens School of Fine Arts she also studied Sculpture, Stage Design and Graphic Design. She has exhibited her work in both group and solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad. She lives in Athens and in Crete.
Themes, shapes and colours in her work are influenced by anything that captures her eyes and challenges her imagination. A constant through-line, though, is the inspiration she receives from the Greek land, which she finds harnesses a unique energy that creates a colour palette with a distinctive light and a special sense of rawness.
Her diverse work includes drawings, paintings, sculpture, ceramics, design objects and land art. Combined they illustrate both her sophisticated aesthetic, as well as her essential need for creation in and of itself.
